Cat - Jorts (and Jean) ... @JortsTheCat I was very very hungry a lot when I was Outside, so I still get worried about there being enough food even here Inside. This is not a food or eating issue. It is a feelings issue, so I learned some things about that... 7:55 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Font - Jorts (and Jean) ... @JortsTheCat This contributes to my trash can mishaps (but also sometimes l'm just having fun tbh). I also don't eat my meal right away if nobody is around, in case they don't come back to ever feed me again. Know how I learned this? We spent time with an expert in cat thoughts and feelings 7:55 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Font - Jorts (and Jean) @JortsTheCat Sometimes it seems like there is a Specific Things Problem when it's really a thoughts / feelings problem. Everyone can benefit from spending time with a thoughts and feelings expert if they can (even if you're not a cat in the trash can) 7:55 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Font - Jorts (and Jean) @JortsTheCat Jean has different worries than I do, like everyone has different worries. We can help each other with our different strengths. We also have excellent mental healthcare coverage, and coworkers who know comprehensive healthcare is very important in a union contract 8:11 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Font - Jorts (and Jean) @JortsTheCat All of this applies to a lot of other resources, not just cat food. Anything we didn't have enough of before will give us extra feelings. Approval, affection, stability, money, etc. It's all hard to unpack our thoughts know things but our feelings aren't sure and sometimes 10:16 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Maggie The Awesome @brainofmaggie ... Replying to @JortsTheCat Snapdragon was found Outside and had to have her teeth and tail removed before she went up for adoption. She really hates it when I leave. She's having her feelings about being abandoned before. It's hard for feelings to tell how situations are different. 8:09 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Sharyn Blum @sleepyknave ... Replying to @brainofmaggie and @JortsTheCat I found my sweet departed Knave in the wet Outside, and he immediately needed several teeth removed, too. He also had a badly broken tail, but thankfully it was able to heal well in time. His food anxiety was legendary, but we managed and had a great run. Cat - Mario & Luigi @gigi67749175 Replying to @JortsTheCat We were scared and alone outside not knowing what happened to our kitty mom. These awesome humans found us & keep us fed and snuggly! Mario will try to hide the food sometimes when he's feeling stressed. We are so grateful for the kind humans helping all kitties! #CatsOfTwitter 8:14 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Font - Mari Fecarotta .. @Mari_Fec Replying to @JortsTheCat My Inky was also outside and she still worries about food too. She is very dedicated to making sure there is food available at all times, and she won't eat until the other three cats have eaten (I think she might have been a mom too). 6:17 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter Web App

Cat - Elana Levin ... @Elana_Brooklyn Replying to @JortsTheCat That sounds a lot like Axl. He constantly begged for food for months because when he lived Outside that's how neighbors would feed him. He begs a little less now- just when we go by the cabinet. But he still tries to eat any object that falls on the floor in case it's food. 4:51 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Brown - Elana Levin @Elana_Brooklyn Replying to @Elana_Brooklyn and @JortsTheCat We have to be extra careful to make sure he doesn't eat things that are unsafe for cats (a lot of human food isn't safe for cats- but also sometimes he tries to see if inanimate objects are food). It means we have to keep the floor clean at all times or else he'lI| “vacuum" it 4:53 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Mike the Birb S- @MiiketheCatt Replying to @JortsTheCat Clara was living Outside with her 6 babies. They were healthy but she was so, so thin. They all found good homes but we kept her because she was "unadoptable" due to her extreme fear. She spent 6 mo. under the bed. Now she trusts us but she still takes meal times very seriously. 12:12 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Clare Kelly ... @katzillaargh Replying to @JortsTheCat Rosie cat was found living outside, terribly hungry and very pregnant. A year of regular mealtimes has significantly decreased her food anxiety & she's still very fearful of lots of things, but aren't we all? I feel honoured every time she chooses to show us her beautiful tum. 9:43 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for Android

Cat - Tavi ... @szn_baseball Replying to @JortsTheCat This is Roland. He's lived with us for over a decade but has only this past year decided to allow us to be in the same room with him. Sometimes change is very slow, but it has to be at your speed. And not for someone else's comfort or expectations. 9:19 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Rebecca @elvissa Replying to @JortsTheCat Yes, every bit of this. My sweet Tucker spent too much time alone and hungry and now is always worried about food and has to be with me every minute of the day. He's so grateful for your explanation (and kibble and a few hours to cuddle with his mom in bed in the morning.) 1:45 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Felidae - MexicanYenta ... @fairywench_1 Replying to @JortsTheCat Charlie still occasionally binges and purges after 3 years inside, and he's only just now started to appreciate receiving pets and affection (in small doses). It's hard for us because he is so freakin' adorable and squishable, but we try to respect his boundaries. 12:28 PM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPhone

Cat - Mockingbird, MPH @amockingbird Replying to @JortsTheCat This is Oliver. He was rescued from an animal hoarder. I've had many rescue rabbits over the years, and Oliver is the first with food insecurity issues like l've seen in rescue cats. He's learned he's allowed to have boundaries, he's still scared of any sudden noise. He's trying. 8:51 AM · Apr 6, 2022 · Twitter for iPad
