POV: Rescued Cat Explains Why They Are The Way They Are

Hi friends! Hope you are enjoying the weekend and spending quality time with your fur babies. In our humble opinion, being an animal lover is the best quality any human can have. Because with loving animals comes compassion, empathy, and thoughtfulness. They teach us so much about trust, purpose, and kindness. 

However, that's not always the case. The world isn't a perfect place and the human population isn't perfect either. And unfortunately, a lot of the time animals get caught up as collateral damage. Particularly abused, abandoned, and neglected pets. We know that this is not an easy topic, it makes us tear up every time we think about it. But it needs to be talked about in order to help identify animal abuse, report it, and aid the animal if possible. 

We recently came across a Twitter thread from the point of view of Jorts the cat talking about their feelings towards food, what caused them, what they look like, and how you can help.

    The 'it's not a food or eating issue, it's a feelings issue' truly breaks our hearts. This is an important topic to talk about so that fellow rescue parents will be able to understand their cats rescued cats' behavior better. All of us just want to form amazing connections full of love, trust, and security.

    That's understandable. No matter how tough life gets, we must never forget to have a little bit of fun.

He also had a badly broken tail, but thankfully it was able to heal well in time. His food anxiety was legendary, but we managed and had a great run. He constantly begged for food for months because when he lived Outside that's how neighbors would feed him. He begs a little less now- just when we go by the cabinet. They all found good homes but we kept her because she was "unadoptable" due to her extreme fear. She spent 6 mo. under the bed. I've had many rescue rabbits over the years, and Oliver is the first with food insecurity issues like l've seen in rescue cats.
